Construction Constructing

Construction Constructing

Growing cities, changing cities, all face the horror that is construction. In Manhattan it may be impossible to make it through a day without facing said topic. But likewise construction allows us inside our city.

Construction .... Construction is the townhouses that I cannot afford nor anyone I know, but still have the opportunity to see inside. Construction is walking down the sidewalk and having my path blocked and rerouted into the street - bringing new vantage and experience. Construction is framing views with framing. The little built alcove keeping pedestrians safe from the hazards of building also keeps pedestrians safe of rain and frames the sunset at that magical time of day right after work.

Watching the building next to you erect makes you feel a part of it. You see it's guts you see the walls go in and the facade go up. Then the windows go in and that's it. You can now only see into the windows located at the right angle with the right lighting to show you a fraction of what's inside.
